The Challenge
Previously, the company had to print documents for every meeting, organize them, and distribute them to all participants. With over 2,500 employees at the headquarters and numerous meetings held regularly, this process consumed a significant amount of time and resources.
Ricoh’s Solution: Paperless Meetings
A total of 153 RICOH Interactive Whiteboards (IWBs) were installed at JX Holdings’ headquarters and several branch offices to support more efficient and productive paperless meetings. The company also created huddle spaces—small discussion areas equipped with RICOH IWBs—to encourage collaboration among employees. As a result of this shift, employees have gradually embraced new ways of thinking and working.
Moreover, because all participants can focus on the content displayed on the RICOH IWB screen, they are able to understand information more quickly and engage in deeper discussions than before. Thanks to the Full HD high-resolution screen, even marketing data with small numbers is easy to read. Presenters can also effortlessly navigate through large presentations and select specific pages to display.
However, the most valued feature has been real-time annotation. By adding notes or highlighting key points directly on the screen, employees benefit from a seamless blend of analog and digital tools that enhances communication and promotes smoother collaboration during meetings.

Information sharing has also become faster, as files containing notes or images can be emailed to participants immediately after the meeting. After using the RICOH IWB for some time, the company has experienced noticeable improvements in workstyle and productivity.
Alongside the adoption of hot-desking and new collaborative spaces in their headquarters, JX Holdings also equipped these areas with IWBs to facilitate huddle meetings—short, informal gatherings for quick discussions and decision-making.
As a result, 90% of employees reported increased productivity, and the company plans to further expand the use of RICOH IWBs to continue improving communication and collaboration.
